====== Keys, Activations and Tokens ====== An ''Activation Key'' is a series of letters and numbers that your clients receive when they pay for your eBooks. Using this key, they can activate your eBook on one computer to gain access to the full version of your eBook. When an eBook is activated on a computer, it can be read only from that computer. However, it is possible for you to configure your keys and products so that an activation key can be used to activate an eBook on ''more than one computer''. You can do this in many ways: *By editing an activation key through the 'Manage Activation Keys' menu. Once you get to a key, you will be able to change the ''Number of readers this key can activate''. *When creating or editing an order. You will be able to change the ''Number of activations for this key''. *When generating a batch of activation keys. You will be able to change the ''Number of activations per key''. *By editing your products settings and changing ''Extra copies per key'', which will affect new keys that will be sold for this book. \\ **Please note** that the number of activations that **can** be performed per key are taken out of your token pool. For example, if you sell an eBook with a key that can be activated on 10 computers, this key will use 10 tokens from your token pool. If you lower the number of activations that was previously set on a key, the tokens will ''not'' be credited back to the pool. However, they will be remembered by the key and will not be removed from the pool again should you choose to put them back to the key. For example, if you sell an eBook that can be activated on 10 computers, but later decide to lower it to 5 computers, you will not get 5 tokens back in your pool. But should you later decide to set this key go back from 5 activations to 10 activations, the 5 tokens difference will not be taken out of your pool.
