Hello,
I find the most challenging part of marketing an eBook to be getting good traffic to the web site.
After a time, with a decent sample of measurable traffic over a period of time, conversions seem to be in line with industry standards. This tells me the obstacle remains SEO and if my analysis is correct, the site design, sales copy and content are interesting and compelling enough to generate reasonable sales when enough potential customers see the site and take a look at the eBook.
The challenge remains to generate enough traffic to make significant sales.
Eric's eBook business machine is a good resource for marketing. I've began to regularly write articles with key words and key phrases purposely used in the copy with the belief that this will make the site more search engine friendly.
As for my very early experience, here are some mistakes I made:
Advertising by radio and giving guest speaking appearances did not prove productive. This may work for authors of hardbound books, but I found it to be a waste of time for marketing an eBook. It is an internet product. Internet products are sold via the world wide web. Sounds silly, but I was slow to realize this and took the advice of those who promote hardbound book authors.
THANKS.
I welcome your comments and ideas.
