|
|
| Currently I use the foms feature in Adobe. Users can fill out a form on a pdd and save it to the PC (while keeping the completed fields on the pdf forms). I created a secure-ebook and it will not allow users to save what they captured on the form. Is this by design? Can users save an updated secure-ebook? |

Hi acuity,
This behavior is by design; Secure-eBook prevents readers from saving a copy of the PDF file - it is part of the copy protection mechanism. _________________ Eric Maziade

I'm using simple Pdf ebooks for my readers. but now I want to make them secure. I want my ebooks password protected and no-one can read them without entering password and at the same time that ebook can't be open or read on any other computer. _________________ Air Conditioning San Diego

mazkolk:
One way to do it would be to put the modifiable form alone in an external PDF file outside of your eBook and bundle it with your protected eBook in a zip file.
However, even when using "regular PDFs", your readers need the full Adobe Acrobat software (not the reader) to be able to save forms...
DavidSanD:
Secure-eBook can do what you want : it will add the protection for it to be opened on only one computer while still maintaining the password protection mechanics from your PDF file.
You'll have to set a password when your create your PDF file (most PDF generators should allow you to add security).
Of course, this means your customers will need to enter a serial key to open your eBook the first time AND a password every other time, which can sometimes be irritating to them (just a thought). _________________ Eric Maziade
