Secure-eBook has been enhanced with a new security option : secured download links!
What is a Secured Download link?
A secured download link is the link your customer received to download the full version of his eBook once he has completed his transaction.
What makes it secure is that the link is unique for every customer and that it works only for a limited time and a limited number of attempts.
Is it easy to integrate to my Web site?
Yes. It can be done in three easy steps:
- Configure your Secure-eBook account with your favorite payment processor (such as PayPal)
- Create a Secure-eBook product entry describing your eBook
- Generate a Secure-eBook button and place it on your Web site
Secure-eBook will handle the transaction for you, generate the secured download link and have the money deposited in your account.
Does it replace the Secure-eBook activation method I am used to?
No. eBook Activation is still an existing option and is still the most secure option.
You can use Secured Download it if you prefer a more lightweight protection method - or you can add it as an extra protection method on top of eBook Activation.
Does it work with Mac?
Yes. Secured Download does not add any protection to the file - it leaves it untouched and allows you to sell PDF files directly.
What eBook format can I use with Secured Download?
All eBook formats can be used: Adobe PDF, MobiPocket, Microsoft Reader, Secure-eBook, etc.
Comments
This is the first I've heard that with Secured Download "you can add it as an extra protection method on top of eBook Activation." Can you please explain that?
I intend to use the eBook Activation method, but would rather not sell only to Windows users. Is there any way to sell separately to Mac users with Secured Download?
@DBL :
Yes. When using the Secured Download method, your eBook doesn't have to be packaged as when using the eBook Activation method. This means that you could directly distribute your eBook in PDF format, which can be opened on Mac computers. But you must understand that only the download link is protected when using the Secured Download method, not the eBook itself.
To sell your eBook to both PC and Mac users, you could create two products in your Secure-eBook account for the same eBook - one for PC users and one for Mac users. The product for PC users could use the eBook Activation protection method and the product for Mac users could use the Secured Download protection method.
